Flanders gives 1,000 euros to cities and municipalities per reception place for Ukrainian refugees

The Flemish government gives 1,000 euros to cities and municipalities for each shelter they organize for Ukrainian refugees. “Just like during the corona crisis, we will have to rely on the clout of local authorities,” it sounded at a webinar for local authorities. “We are working on collective and sustainable shelters. A European country is at war. We must support Ukrainians who flee to Flanders as much as possible,” said Flemish Prime Minister Jan Jambon (N-VA).
