FKA Twigs has released a new single: “On Your Mind” featuring Lil Yachty. The track, produced by DJH, is her first new material of 2026. She had already teased the song several times on her summer tour this year.
“I wrote this song with Yachty the night after a long dance rehearsal when I learned that my former manager and production team hadn’t gotten me visas in time to travel to Coachella and finish my headlining EUSEXUA USA tour,” she wrote in a statement on Instagram. “I stayed in the dance studio for a long time, practicing obsessively, hoping that the news wasn’t true, and in denial that if I just practiced a little more, I would somehow still make it across the sea to perform for my amazing and loyal fans. It never ceases to amaze me how pain can transform into the hardest, most euphoric sounds. I think writing songs like this keeps me on my toes and reminds me that I’m not in control of everything.”
She added: “I’m telling this backstory because after completing my first US and EU arena tour, it feels like the perfect time to release this song – as a celebration of what we can overcome as artists when we believe in ourselves and others believe in us. I feel so fulfilled – thank you for coming to ‘BODY HIGH’, thank you for continuing to grow with me. Thank you for what we will build next. Everything happens for a reason, and my reason is music and art will always be you.”
New chapter after “Eusexua”
Last year, FKA Twigs released “Eusexua” and “Eusexua Afterglow.” “I’ve always been curious about what kind of artist I am because I’m constantly rediscovering it,” she told Rolling Stone about releasing a double album. “At the beginning I thought, maybe I’m more of a visual artist or performance artist. It was always interesting for me to squeeze my music into a classic album structure. That’s always challenged me. After each of my projects, there was always this surge of creativity.”
“On Your Mind” ushers in Twigs’ next musical era. According to the press release, “more from FKA Twigs can be expected very soon.”
