Left winger Takumi Minamino is moving from Liverpool FC to AS Monaco. The Japan international has signed a contract in the principality that will run until 2026. The base fee is said to be 15 million euros, and another 3 million euros could be paid as bonuses.

Minamino switched from RB Salzburg to Anfield in January 2020 for 8.5 million euros, but was never able to win a regular place in coach Jürgen Klopp’s top-class offensive with the Reds. In the second half of the 2020/21 season, the right-footer, whose contract with Liverpool originally ran until 2024, was loaned out to Southampton FC. Last season, Minamino played 894 minutes in 22 games for the Reds in all competitions, in which he contributed ten goals and one assist. For Minamino, Monaco is the fifth professional stop in the fourth country.
