Three of the five now arrested are suspected of throwing stones at riot police, police vehicles and/or emergency services. They are two 19-year-olds and a now 18-year-old boy (still 17 in November) from Rotterdam. Two others, a man (51 from The Hague) and a woman (49 from Krimpen), are suspected of setting a waste container on fire.
The riots on Coolsingel broke out after a demonstration against the cabinet’s corona policy. Police officers were the target. Shops, police cars and scooters were also damaged or destroyed. Five people were injured by bullets.
