Explosion Amsterdam

The owner of the Amsterdam fitness studio Onna, which was completely destroyed by an explosion last night, says that the explosion clearly took place under his studio and that his company has nothing to do with it. “There were boys there crying for help, but we wonder: what were they doing there?” he says to this site.

His name does not necessarily have to be mentioned. “Because I still have a few companies and I don’t want people to Google me.” But other than that, the owner of the fitness studio in Amsterdam-West that was destroyed last night has nothing to hide.

“We have not been arrested, we are not suspicious or anything. We have now also analyzed the camera images and everything with the police and it is clear: the explosion was underneath the gym. I am so happy that there are images. You see everything coming up, equipment, everything…”

“There were three boys training at the time. It is a small community gym with members. We never advertised, more of a hobby. Fortunately, those three boys were unhurt except for a few scratches and bumps. But they did see two boys calling for help through a hole in the ground after the explosion.”

“Those rooms under the studio are storage areas, for bicycles or something, so we wonder what they were doing there at that time. I understand that one of those boys is now in a coma in the hospital. And I don’t know the other one, he must also be seriously injured.”

Grenades and explosions

The owner of the fitness studio has also heard the stories that those boys were preparing an explosion. “There are strong suspicions, yes.” He says he doesn’t know the boys, but other people in the neighborhood know them.

“I emphasize that they were not members of our fitness studio. I have also heard the rumors about grenades being thrown in here and I know it all. It is all untrue. So the explosion did not take place in our home.”

According to the owner, the studio was ‘completely destroyed’. “We took it over ten years ago and never, really never had any problems. No, I don’t know yet whether we are going to rebuild it. The insurance must cover the damage and then we will see what happens.”
