The Fitness Athlete has been appointed by the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Board Anni Kariselle for a four-year ban on doping in sport. The Finnish Center for Ethics in Sport (Suek) informed about the matter.

The doping sample provided by Karinen contained clenbuterol, which is grouped under the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) list of banned substances into other anabolic substances.

Suek’s decision states that all of Karinen’s competition results achieved between the time of testing on August 27, 2021 and the start of the temporary ban on sports activities on November 12, 2021 must be rejected.

In its decision, the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Committee stated that Karinen had not been able to demonstrate that the doping violation was unintentional. Karinen has not appealed against his decision within the time limit.

Karinen was ninth in the 2021 World Championships in October in the Womens physique series.
