According to information from the Norwegian newspaper VG, a Russian delegation of 10–15 people has arrived to take part in the International Skiing Federation’s FISI event organized in Zurich. It is known that the Russian skiing boss is also in the group Jelena Välbe.
President of the Norwegian Ski Association Tove Dyrhaug says that he was surprised by the presence of representatives of Russia, which was closed from competitions in spring and winter.
Norway was supposed to fly a group of 30 people to Switzerland, but some have decided not to get on the plane or headed home immediately after hearing about the arrival of the Russians.
Excluding Russian athletes from competitions does not mean that the heads of the federations should not be involved in the tables that decide the sports.
– This has been chaos. However, Norway is represented in all committees, Dyrhaug commented.
The autumn days of Fis bring together the representatives of the various winter sports federations, who get to vote on, for example, rule changes and competition calendars.
