SOCCER – Eighteen losses, two draws and a goal difference of -72. Those were the statistics of Saturday fourth division team Tiendeveen until last night. Few people had any hope of a three-pointer against SC Angelslo. It didn’t come either, but the yellow shirts were so close.

Ten minutes before time it was 2-4 in Emmen. Tiendeveen played a very strong match for eighty minutes and made up for a 1-0 deficit before half time.

The home team reached 1-0 via Yoran Reinderink after fifteen minutes, but goals from Mitchell van Goor, Jorden Fik and Yusuf Ucan made it halfway through 1-3. When Rick Sunday made the 2-3 fourteen minutes before the end, the victory seemed to be in jeopardy for a while, but Ucan’s second goal meant that the margin was two minutes later.

The first win of the season was almost in. But it still went wrong. In the space of four minutes, between the 86th and 90th minute, SC Angelslo scored three more times. Rick Zondag, Gezim Luli and Sunday again determined the final score at 5-4.

Due to the defeat, Tiendeveen is still last in the 4th class D of Saturday football. Despite the fact that the Drenthe club has not yet won a duel, direct relegation can still be avoided. Nieuw Balinge, which lost 0-7 to Onstwedder Boys, has only two points more. In this class, only the last number relegates directly. Numbers 12 and 13 (now Nieuw Balinge and SC Angelslo) play post-competition football.

The numbers 1 and 2 in this 4th class D, Borger and WVV, will be in action tonight. Borger (44 points from 20 matches) plays at home against middle-class Wildervank and WVV (41 points from 18) visits sub-topper HS’88.
