First trophy of the season for Manchester City

Manchester City won the first Super Cup in club history.

Sevilla and Manchester City fought evenly for the Super Cup victory. PDO

Sevilla fought wonderfully against Manchester City in the traditional opening event of the Euro season, i.e. the Super Cup final.

The Andalusians received an invitation to the event in Piraeus as the winner of the Europa League, but naturally, City, who conquered the Champions League, went into the match as overwhelming favorites.

Youssef En-Nesyri however, turned the preconceived notions on their head. The Moroccan bounced to the highest and headed the world champion Marcos Acuña right at the foot of the pillar of the delicacy center.

City bag Ederson didn’t even have time to move his fins.

Sevilla had also taken the lead in the previous meeting between the teams, but then Pep Guardiola’s however, the defenders had held on for a 3–1 victory.

Something similar was expected this time too, as the Sky Blues ramped up their attacks Bono to the guarded goal.

However, Kiri was sorely lacking. Luckily for City anyway Cole Palmer header leveled the match in the 63rd minute.

No more goals were seen, so according to Uefa regulations, the first title of the early autumn was awarded in a spot race.

The first nine kickers succeeded in that, but Sevilla’s Nemanja Gudelj bombed the ball into the top bar. City won the penalty shootout 5–4 and will take the trophy to the Etihad.
