The Female* Producer Collective (“FPC” for short), which was founded to counteract the low proportion of women in music production, and Sony Music held the first songwriting camp in Berlin last weekend. At the three-day event, producers from the FPC and selected artists came together to write songs together. During the three days, a total of 14 producers and eight different artists, such as Wilhelmine and Dilla, worked together and produced 12 demos.

Lena Leick, project manager of the Female* Producer Collective, sums it up: “The three days have impressively shown the high level at which the producers work.” In addition, the joy about the songs that were created together with the artists is great.

In the previous two project rounds of the nationwide support program, a total of 35 producers were accepted into the Collective from over 250 applications.

Female* Producer Prize 2023 will take place again

This year, the Female* Producer Prize will be announced again. The award was presented for the first time last year, initiated by the Music Women* Germany association and with the support of Sony Music, in order to promote female producers from all over Germany and make them visible. At that time, Novaa, Jenny Gerdts, GOTOPO, Maxi Menot and Nora Medín won the competition.

The Female* Producer Collective is funded by Initiative Musik gGmbH with project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
