First semester welcome: 225 first semester students celebrate the start of their studies at the TH Lübeck

For the 225 freshmen in the 2023 summer semester, a new phase of life is beginning at TH Lübeck. They all celebrated the start of their studies at TH Lübeck on March 13 at 10 a.m Department of Applied Sciences, construction, electrical engineering and computer science as well as mechanical engineering and economics.

They were welcomed by the President of the TH Lübeck, Muriel Helbig: “Welcome to our Technical University of Lübeck. You can look forward to an exciting time, many new insights and friendships at a university where you can personally surpass yourself.” The students then experienced a special video premiere. The first semester students were able to see the new image film exclusively, which shows the TH Lübeck as a transfer university.

On behalf of the student representatives, Natalie Reinhold and Adrian Graaf welcomed the freshmen. Natalie Reinhold, first chairwoman of the General Student Committee (AStA), informed the students about events and important contacts. Adrian Graaf, President of the Student Parliament, referred to the upcoming university elections and a general assembly of students.

The deans of the respective faculties reported on the upcoming events and pointed out that they should also look for study modules in other courses in order to broaden their own horizons at the beginning of their studies.

The international students also had their first official day at TH Lübeck on Monday. A total of 83 young people from countries including Brazil, Spain, North Macedonia, China and Jordan have started their studies at the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences. In the next two weeks, German courses as well as a campus rally and a city tour as well as a joint barbecue with older semesters from the TH Lübeck are on the agenda for them.
