Otte lost 4:6, 3:6 to qualifier Emil Ruusuvuori from Finland on Tuesday. Unlike Ruusuvuori, the world number 72 was. Otte previously failed in qualifying, but moved up into the main draw as a lucky loser.
The only remaining German participant in the event, which is worth around 5.8 million euros, is top player Alexander Zverev. The Hamburger is seeded in second place and after a walk-through in the second round he will face Argentinian Federico Delbonis.
