First look: Yeezy Gap by Balenciaga

Gap has presented the first looks of Kanye West’s Yeezy Gap line in collaboration with Balenciaga, announced in January. The release of the looks coincides with the ‘Donda Experience’ in Miami. At the event, rapper West presented his new album ‘Donda 2’.

Eight styles have been released, reflecting timeless silhouettes and shaped by West’s and Demna Gvasalias, Balenciaga’s creative director, “vision of utilitarian design,” Gap announced on Thursday. This includes a denim jacket, jogging and denim pants, as well as t-shirts and hoodies with the Gap logo. The motifs also include an abstract dove, which is a symbol of hope.

With the exception of a few jeans pieces, the collaboration is all in shades of black. With the black mask, the styles in the look book are reminiscent of West and Kim Kardashian’s couple look at the last Met Gala. Appropriately enough, Kardashian’s anonymized and body-hugging look comes from fashion house Balenciaga.

The cooperation will be available exclusively in the Yeezygap.com line’s own online shop and at the online retailer Farfetch, where pre-order is currently possible. The pre-order pieces cost between 150 euros for a T-shirt and 540 euros for the denim jacket.
