The first day and evening went smoothly, Zandvoort mayor Moolenburgh reported to NH Nieuws. The atmosphere was good and there were no significant incidents: “I am very satisfied.”
The atmosphere was good yesterday. This year it is a lot busier than last year: yesterday 95,000 fans visited the free practice and they also notice that in the village. “It now brings more excitement and fun to the village.” Another 220,000 visitors are expected in the coming days.
Drunk people
The evening passed without any major incidents. “Obviously, occasionally someone had to be taken off the street drunk, but that also happens here on a normal night out.”
According to the police, it concerns a ‘small number of arrests for public intoxication’.
Mayor Moolenburgh also foresees a sunny and pleasant day today: “If it goes just like yesterday, I have full confidence in it.”
