First change of coach of the season in the Spanish La Liga: First division soccer club FC Elche has responded to its series of bankruptcies and fired coach Francisco Rodriguez.
This was announced by the bottom of the table on Tuesday, one day after the 1: 2 at Rayo Vallecano.
Elche is bottom after five league defeats in a row and just one point from the previous seven games.
Rodriguez, who himself described the situation after Rayo’s last-minute defeat as ‘unsustainable’, has been in charge since November 2021 and helped the club finish 13th last season was released this season.
It is not yet known who will succeed him at Elche.
