In the VITAZ hospital in Sint-Niklaas, little Aram was born at 6:29 am as the first Wase New Year’s baby of 2023. Proud parents are Masis Khachaturyan and Stepanyan Ruzanna, a couple with Armenian roots who live in Sint-Niklaas.

The first New Year’s baby in South West Flanders was born at 0.45 am in the AZ Delta hospital in Menen. Although it almost went wrong, after Djulia came four weeks early. “Had I been five minutes later, I wouldn’t have had a baby. I am so happy with this New Year’s present,” says mama Patricia.

And whether nail stylist Lynn Hoornaert (28) and truck driver Dylan Verhamme (30) from Wevelgem are proud with their first child. Mona saw the light of day at 8.50 am in the hospital AZ Groeninge on Hoog Kortrijk. Their daughter measures 46 centimeters and weighs 2.56 kilograms.
