Wait a minute, we know this climate sticker!
It was only twelve days ago: A man and a woman of the so-called “last generation” poured mashed potatoes over a painting by Claude Monet in the Potsdam Museum Barberini. One of the perpetrators calls himself “Benjamin”. He was later arrested and taken into police custody.
On Wednesday “Benjamin” was caught again. But there was only one sending off for him. Although he once again took part in an adhesive and paint campaign, only his personal details were recorded.
What happened?
► At 11:19 a.m., the police were alerted to the FDP party headquarters on Reinhardtstrasse (middle). There, “Benjamin” and an accomplice sprayed orange paint and stuck themselves.
► Already at 11.15 a.m. the police moved to the SPD party headquarters on Wilhelmstrasse (Kreuzberg). There, two climate adhesives had sprayed paint from fire extinguishers against the facade and a sculpture. A reporter also got paint.
► At 11:28 a.m., the police officers were called to the Green Party headquarters on the square in front of the New Gate (middle). The same action there: three people had sprayed the facade with prepared fire extinguishers and glued themselves to it. A car smeared with paint in front of the building. A police spokeswoman: “Two women were taken into custody.”
The “Last Generation” said in a statement that they were protesting against the arrest of scientists after a protest in Munich. Literally: “The death spiral from climate tipping points is already starting to turn and neither party has a plan to get a grip on it.”
