‘It will take a long time before Ajax recovers from this’

Matchday 14 of the Eredivisie was a memorable football weekend. PSV easily won at home against FC Volendam (3-0) and Feyenoord defeated Telstar (1-2) in Velsen-Zuid, with difficulty. AZ surprisingly lost to FC Twente, partly thanks to an off-day by top striker Troy Parrott, but the real blow was in Amsterdam. The match was marred there by fireworks being thrown onto the field twice at Ajax against FC Groningen. The match was then stopped. After the match, Ajax issued a press release stating that the club finds what happened in the stadium absolutely scandalous and apologizes. Football chief Telesport Valentijn Driessen gives his view on this eventful weekend.
