Fireworks sellers reprimanded for poor storage: 18 violations

Eighteen violations were found during inspections of fireworks sales points in Amsterdam, Amstelland, Haarlemmermeer and Zaanstreek, the North Sea Canal Area Environmental Service reports. The entrepreneurs have received a formal warning for this.

The violations concern fireworks that are piled too high, doors to the firework storage that do not close properly or a door to the firework storage that was kept open with a hook for convenience.

All fireworks sales points are checked every year. This time there are 16 inspectors who unannounced all 56 points of sale in the municipalities of Amsterdam, Haarlemmermeer, Aalsmeer, Amstelveen, Diemen, Ouder-Amstel, Uithoorn and Zaanstad.

The sellers know that they are being monitored, but do not know when this will happen. During the checks, attention is paid to fire safety measures and rules of conduct.
