Just like in previous years, fireworks-free zones have been established by the municipality of Zoetermeer for New Year’s Eve. Very nice, because in those places you can quietly walk your dog or take a walk without being disturbed by loud bangs.

Not everyone is happy with fireworks: the loud bangs mean that some people prefer not to be on the street during New Year’s Eve. Fireworks-free zones have been established by the municipality for those people, but also for our pets and animals in the wild.
Here you will find fireworks-free zones in Zoetermeer
The following areas in Zoetermeer have been established as fireworks-free zones. The municipality places temporary signs to indicate the areas:
- Balijbos;
- Buytenpark (from SnowWorld);
- Buytenwegh district park (up to SnowWorld, including sports fields)
- De Leyens indoor park
- Mayor Hoekstrapark (Rokkeveen)
- Aldo van Eyckpark (Noordhove)
- Cycling and walking path along the Oostkade (Oosterheem)
- Area around the Market: Marseillepad, the back of London Street, Stadhuisplein, Eastwards and Southwards
- Parking lot and event area at Silverdome, Van der Hagenstraat
