A fire started on Saturday afternoon in a building of PostNL on Kempenlandstraat in Vught after someone has thrown fireworks residues in the trash in the building. The benefactor wanted to clean up fireworks from an earlier funeral, which then flew on fire in a trash can.
Earlier in the day there was a funeral with an adjacent funeral director in which fireworks was used. The police suspect that someone wanted to clear the remains and thrown them in a trash can in the PostNL building.
The fire caused a lot of damage in the building of the postal company. The fire brigade could eventually go inside the building of the adjacent funeral director to extinguish the fire. As a precaution, the funeral cars of the funeral company drove out.
The fire brigade quickly got the fire under control. At the time of the fire, nobody was present in the PostNL building.
