The fire brigade had to pull out on Monday afternoon because there was a fire in the woods in three places between Budel and Valkenswaard. The first fire broke out at the Bergbosweg. On the way, the fire brigade came another fire against the Belgian border at the Beverbeekse Heide and not much later they found a third fire, also just across the border.
The fire brigade from the Netherlands and Belgium pulled out in large numbers to get the three fireplaces under control. The Bergbosweg was closed from both directions. In the meantime everything has been extinguished and the road is open again.
The cause of the fires is not yet known. There has been more often a fire in this region lately. For example, the fire brigade also had to turn to Bergbosweg last Wednesday. At the beginning of April there was a very large fire in Budel-Dorplein.
