Two people have been checked by ambulance personnel, where a person has been referred to the doctor. Two firefighters have also been checked because they suffered from heat flows, but they can resume their duties.
Resident is shocked
NH reporter Mischa Korzec is on site and spoke with resident Romy. “We rent the house. I have no idea what happened. I just got out of my work, I was called that there is a fire. I don’t know where it originated, but they were busy with the roof. Maybe because of that.”
She is very shocked. “My heart is in my throat. We have not been inside yet, so we don’t know how bad it is. But if you see what has been pulled out, this is the sausage scenario. There were no more people or pets inside, so that is very nice.”
Zaanweg closed
The Zaanweg is closed for traffic from Stationsstraat to Markstraat because of the fire. The Steijnstraat is also closed from Markstraat. Local residents who suffer from the smoke are advised to keep windows and doors closed.
