A fire broke out on Saturday evening in an asylum seekers’ center at Pettelaarpark in Den Bosch. The fire started on the fifth floor of the building, the building has been evacuated.
In the Mövenpick Hotel, temporary asylum seekers are taken care of, there is room for 250 residents. Not all places were occupied. In the end, about twenty to thirty people had to go outside.
The fire brigade came to the fire with five vehicles. The moment the help arrived, the fire was almost over. There was a lot of smoke in the building, the fire brigade has ventilated everything with a large fan.
The fire would have been created in the corridor on the fifth floor, after someone had tried to set a smoke detector on fire. No one has been arrested. Nobody was injured in the fire.
