The fire brigade extinguished a fire on the Westerstouwe in Meppel on Saturday evening. A residential unit caught fire, probably due to a short circuit. No one was injured.

The fire brigade was called around 6:20 p.m. It turned out to be an electrical fire. The residents first tried to extinguish the flames themselves. When this failed, the fire brigade was called. The fire is now out. It is still being examined whether the residents can sleep in the unit.
