A man was injured in a fire in a residential facility in Berlin-Borsigwalde on Tuesday evening around 11:15 p.m.

As the police announced on Wednesday, the fire in the Reinickendorf district may have been arson.

Witnesses are said to have observed a resident leaving the room on the ground floor of the five-story building.

The police have not yet provided any further details.

The fire department was on site and extinguished the flames. According to BZ information, several animals were also taken out of the house.

Rescue workers took the resident of a neighboring room to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation. A fire commissioner is now investigating suspected serious arson.
