Fire in Oudenburg reception center: 32 Ukrainian refugees back on the street

Last night a fire broke out in the fuse box of the BikersLoft in Oudenburg, where 32 Ukrainian refugees were staying at that time. There were no injuries and the damage was limited.

After consultation between the fire service and Mayor Anthony Dumarey, the site will be sealed for at least a few days to allow for a thorough cleaning. All 32 Ukrainians present were therefore first transferred to the Biezenbilk service center and then to various temporary reception locations.

Ships offers shelter

Ships Romina Vanhooren, among others, temporarily took in a refugee family. She announced this in a Facebook post. Other refugees could go to hotel de Stokerij.
