Around 11 p.m., the Westhoek Fire Department was called to a chimney fire in Stationstraat, in Diksmuide. When the fire brigade arrived, the fire had already spread to the ceiling between the first and second floors.
According to the fire lieutenant, a hiker noticed the fire and eventually alerted residents and emergency services.
No one was injured, but the house is temporarily uninhabitable
