A deer fell into the water tonight in the North Willems Canal between De Punt and Vries. It was difficult for the fire brigade to pull the deer out of the water, because it kept swimming around in the cold water in a panic. Finally, a firefighter pulled the animal out of the water at a lower part of the quay.
It is not known how the animal fell into the water. After the fire brigade lifted the animal safely to the side, the deer was dried and then ran perfectly healthy into nature.
