This afternoon, the mayor JG Legroweg in Eelde has been investigating a potentially dangerous substance. That happened on the site of Groningen Airport Eelde (GAE). It was an aircraft part that came in damaged and possibly carried radioactivity.
As a precaution, the fire brigade has taken measurements for possible radioactive radiation, but it turned out not to be present. The space where the object was was temporarily evacuated. The environment was also closed off during the investigation.
