The Viola are fresh from the great victory at Maradona against Napoli and find themselves in third place in the table next to Juve: the ambitions of the club are rising as they aim to return to the most prestigious cup
Fiorentina arrived at the break with the great success at Maradona against Italian champions Napoli. An exciting 3-1 after half a misstep in the Conference against Stankovic’s Ferencvaros (2-2), so much so that now the French coach Garcia risks being put on the Italian bench. Well, in Florence they dream big after so many years of light and shade: in third place next to Juve with 17 points, the Italian team runs almost at the pace of the Milanese, who are in command (the Rossoneri on 21, the Nerazzurri on 19 ). Do the prospects and ambitions of Commisso’s company change? Probably yes, because a place in the Champions League could be within Fiorentina’s reach if over the course of the season they don’t lower the pace they’ve maintained in this brilliant start.
FIORENTINA IN THE CHAMPIONS: THE ODDS
—
The same bookmakers of the main betting sites believe that the Viola will be placed within the first four places and therefore in the Champions League (but at the end of the season even fifth position could be sufficient…). Odds 4.50 on Gazzabet and Snai, 5.00 on Sisal and 5.50 on Better. A good challenge for the Italian Viola even if they will still find themselves ahead of the four candidates for the Scudetto reported before the start of the championship: Napoli, Inter, Milan and Juventus. Their Champions League odds are low, at least for now, but a definitive assessment will have to be made at the halfway point, next January 6th.
And Fiorentina will still try to be in the front row, ready to take advantage of any failures of one of the big teams just like Sarri’s Lazio did last season. The rivals among the outsiders? Roma, Lazio and Atalanta: Mou’s team in the top four is between 3.75 and 4.50 while Lazio, who started very badly, is between 5.00 and 6.00 on the scoreboard.
