The case that brought the Icelandic player accused of “sexual misconduct” to court is virtually over

The news comes from Iceland through Albert Gudmundsson’s lawyers: the appeal against the player’s acquittal has been rejected and the matter is to be considered virtually concluded because it seems to be excluded (the opposite would be a very rare case) that there could be a further appeal by the opposing party. The player had gone to trial for sexual misconduct for an episode dating back to the summer of 2023 in Iceland and the case was initially closed before reopening. But on this occasion too Gud was acquitted. Now another smile for the attacker who was waiting for the sentence by December 4th, but who already today received the good news that the appeal was not accepted.
