Now a bold opening is being made in Finland. The K-supermarket chain decided to embrace the current travel trend with the result that the chain’s grocery stores are listed on the travel service Tripadvisor. It is reportedly the first time in the world that a grocery store chain lists several of its stores as tourist attractions in the service.

According to Visit Finland, food shopping tourism is one of the most interesting phenomena in food tourism this year. Grocery tourism is indeed a rising tourism trend. Visit Finland’s food tourism expert Terhi Hook states at the press conference organized by K-supermarket that Germans and Japanese especially seek culinary experiences in Finland.
– Finland’s strongest food-related images are arctic flavors, fresh game and fish, and food from pure nature, Hook says.
Stores of the K-supermarket chain will be added to Tripadvisor in stages. In the first phase, large stores with a lot of local products in the capital region, such as Kamppi and Mustapekka in Helsinki and Lippulaiva in Espoo, will be brought there.
