Finnish skaters reaped success in the Nordic championships.

Finland won no fewer than nine gold medals in freestyle from the Nordic championships over the weekend.
Contestants from Finland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland took part in the tournament, which was held in Skara, Sweden.
Finland’s competition team was well-known, as it included competitors seen in the World and European Freestyle Championships.
Among the gold medalists were Linnea Kuosa (U23, women 52.2 kg), Arlex Blomqvist (U23, men 79.5 kilos), Kerttu Saarnisaari (N 65.8), Walter Björkroth (M 65.8), Juuso Renfors (M 70.3), Joni Vesa (M 74.8), Timi Leskinen (M 79.5) and Juho Suvanto (M 83.9).
In men’s 74.8 kg Veeti Kurhela lost the final and got PM silver.
All in all, Finland’s team of 11 athletes won 12 games. A total of three matches ended in Finnish defeat.
The Nordic championships were held under the amateur rules of freestyle. The European Championship of the international association Immaf will be held at the beginning of February in Belgrade.
