Fines handed out when poaching around Storm Surge Barrier | NOW

The police handed out several fines around the storm surge barrier last week. Poaching was checked in collaboration with the regional enforcement service.

Police regularly receive reports of poaching, live bait fishing or fishing in prohibited and dangerous locations. A total of three fines were handed out during the checks. Two fishermen were caught fishing in a prohibited location. Another fisherman was fishing with live bait.

In addition, a considerable amount of sea bass was found without an owner. That fish was collected by the A Seal foundation. It is allowed to catch and keep only two sea bass per person.

The police have announced that they will check more often around the storm surge barrier.
