Geri Haerynck is no ordinary amateur weatherman. In his garden in Koekelare there are all kinds of measuring devices, such as a homemade anemometer with a bicycle tire. In recent weeks, Geri often sat in his garden to predict the weather for this year.
By the way, there is a lot of interest in Geri’s predictions. There was a coming and going of journalists today, and even the neighbors came by. “The tension of that weather,” says Geri. “That it affects so many people. And because this is a separate region here, those weather reports from Brussels are not always correct here for the Westhoek.”
