Finally: as the last in North Holland, Bergen also has a new lecture

Three candidates have been found who will start working as aldermen in Bergen. Tonight they will be installed. This makes Bergen the last in the province to have a new college, after the election in March.

During the council meeting that starts at 8 p.m., the last two remaining aldermen say goodbye, the new widely supported council agreement is presented and the three aldermen appointed.

It concerns Hoogkarspel Yvonne Roos-Bakker (49), Marco Wiesehahn-Vrijman (48) from Haarlem and Ernest Briët (52) from Bergen.

Apply

‘Everyone’ could apply for the alderman’s posts, whereby the political color is not important because the new city council of Bergen is taking a different tack without coalition or opposition. This also hopes to put an end to the negative management culture.

According to the selection committee, in addition to sufficient administrative experience, the candidate aldermen have “proven binding capacity and have been able to maintain relationships at all levels, varying from residents and entrepreneurs to interest groups. They are also able to work well in a team.”

Yvonne Roos is currently a councilor for the VVD in Drechterland and works for the municipality of Hoorn. VNO/NCW & MKB Nederland is (still) the employer of Marco Wiesehahn, who was previously also a VVD member of parliament in our province. Ernest Briët is a member of PvdA and since 2013 director of Landscape Noord-Holland.
