Tesfu trusts the World Cup

Tesfu continued stoically and was therefore the first Dutchman to reach the finish line. The World Cup limit of 2.06.30 was not in it. The resident of Den Helder hoped to run that Sunday is already running, but assumes that he will be admitted on the basis of the world ranking.

Tesfu is now going to rest and then run greater distances with “maybe” a marathon in the fall. “If I am the top one hundred in the world, I can participate in Tokyo. I think my performance is good enough for that.”

Winner

The Kenyan Geoffrey Kamworor is the successor of Abdi Nageeye as the winner of the Rotterdam marathon. The 32-year-old favorite placed its decisive gear after 37 kilometers and came across the finish on the Coolsingel after 42,195 kilometers solo.

Luijten, twelfth in Rotterdam last year, came as the best Dutch in 2.31.26. That was almost five minutes slower than her best time on the marathon, but that is no surprise in view of the weather conditions.
