Film festival Ostend attracts about 48,000 visitors

Never before have there been so many previews, about 70, and so many well-known guests, more than 150, on the red carpet. For the first time, the film festival also organized screenings in Blankenberge, Knokke, Torhout and Tielt in the presence of a cast. But above all, the film festival wants to be a platform for local talent. With Nathali Broods as Master, the fifteenth Ostend Film Festival has now come to an end.

Director of the Ostend Film Festival, Peter Craeymeersch is satisfied with the high number of visitors: “I did not expect that we would have such a turnout. I think we sold out all screenings at 8 pm. At 5 and 10 am it was extremely busy , also sometimes sold out. We’re going to 48,000 visitors. We’ve never been able to do that before. And that’s fantastic, isn’t it.”
