The Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat (“Evening News”) suddenly became interested in a survey conducted by the Russian publication “Za Rulem” about which cars can be considered a luxury. So, exactly a quarter of the 1100 readers surveyed consider luxury cars from 5 million rubles (about 60 thousand euros) – these are some kind of Volvo S90 or Cadillac XT5. A little less than a quarter (22.7%) – a car is twice as expensive, from 10 million rubles (about 115 thousand euros) – here you can take any car from Aston Martin to Rolls-Royce. 14.2 percent think it’s cool to drive around in a wheelbarrow for 3 million rubles (35.6 thousand euros) – for example, Haval H9 or Volkswagen Amarok. And 12.4 percent are sure that the price of splendor starts from 4 million rubles (47.5 thousand euros) – these are cars like the Mercedes-Benz GLC or Porsche Macan. And finally, 11.4% of Russians would be satisfied luxurious “swallow” for only 2 million (23.7 thousand euros), such as, for example, Skoda Octavia or Kia Optima
True, it is worth noting that not all of our fellow citizens have such a high level of luxury cars. For 14.1% of respondents, luxury is the very presence of a car, and only in this they agree with the inhabitants of the Suomi country. As for the rest, it turned out that this concept is used by Russians and Finns … In short, it’s just different concepts. And here is what Ilta-Sanomat readers, shocked by the Russian poll, think about this:
“In Finland, luxury is any passenger car,” Sale user agrees with 14.1 percent of Russians. “A lot of money is spent on maintenance. By the way, in Russia, gasoline is three times cheaperthan ours.”
