Filip Dewinter says that it has become personal between him and Bart De Wever: “If he doesn’t want to hear, he will have to feel” | Domestic

Vlaams Belang leader Filip De Winter again lashes out strongly at foreigners, the VRT and N-VA chairman Bart De Wever in an interview with the weekly magazine ‘Humo’. There is no place for Muslims on his list, the public broadcaster must stop functioning “as a propaganda channel for multiculturalism and wokism“, and for De Wever he has a clear warning. “If Bart doesn’t want to hear, he will have to feel.”

N-VA chairman Bart De Wever said last week in the Play 4 talk show ‘Gert’s table’ that Vlaams Belang must first throw out “the excesses, the real extremists” before there can be any cooperation. He declined to name names, but “established that something has started. Dries Van Langenhove has been sent off and Filip Dewinter has been pushed back,” he said. But the latter once again attracts a lot of attention with some striking statements in an interview with the weekly magazine ‘Humo’.

If N-VA is defeated again, his party will no longer follow him

Filip Dewinter about Bart De Wever, Vlaams Belang

“With Bart it has become personal. Too many things have happened between him and me,” says Dewinter about the fact that De Wever would rather quit politics than manage Vlaams Belang. “If Bart doesn’t want to hear, he will have to feel. For the time being, no one dares to openly attack Bart De Wever, but if we get more than 25 percent and the N-VA is defeated again, his party will no longer follow him. Then the cordon sanitary will fall over his political corpse.”

In the interview, Dewinter repeats the ambition to participate in management. “The time is now ripe to take risks and compromise,” he says soothingly. “The cards have never been better suited to our political tendency, in Flanders and Europe. There are also more dissidents in other parties than you think. If necessary, we can pluck people away to achieve a comfortable majority.” The preferred scenario for Vlaams Belang is co-management. “But if there is no other option, it also wants to consider tolerance support.”

In the interview, Dewinter is also clear about Flemish independence: he wants to declare it unilaterally in parliament. He dismisses the fact that less than 20 percent in Flanders are in favor of a split. “Half of the Flemish people vote for a pro-Flemish party: they are tired of the French speakers eating away at our prosperity.”

Dewinter further lashes out at the VRT, which, according to him, is a “propaganda channel of multiculturalism and wokism” is. And education also receives a clear warning from him. “We will review the lesson packages and ask that teachers limit themselves to transferring knowledge, rather than indoctrinating children with wokism and multiculture.”

We are heading for a ‘clash of civilizations’, an ‘intifada’, through a Muslim population that is becoming increasingly stronger and more numerous here

And finally he repeats his discourse towards Muslims. “We are heading for one clash of civilizationsAn intifada, through a Muslim population that is becoming stronger and more numerous here.” Striking: Dewinter wants to link development aid in Africa to encouraging birth control. “One pack of condoms in Africa will mean twenty illegal immigrants and ten criminals less in our country in a few years.”

“If I am the stumbling block, I will leave immediately”

Filip Dewinter will push instead of pull the Flemish list in Antwerp in 2024, but that does not mean the end of the politician. “I want to actively experience how my political project is realized. Internally I said: if I am the stumbling block, I will leave immediately. But when people from outside tell me what to do, I usually do the opposite. I am that upset.”
