German figure skating couple is on a gold course at EM

Germany’s figure skating pair of Minerva Hase and Nikita Wolodin is located on the gold course at the European Championship in Tallinn after the short program. The duo takes first place with 71.59 points. Second is the Italian couple Sara Conti/Niccolò Macii (68.52 points) ahead of Maria Pavlova/Alexei Sviatchenko from Hungary (65.88 points).
The freestyle and thus the first medal decision at the European Championship in the Estonian capital will take place on Thursday (6 p.m./Sportschau.de and Discovery+).

Norwegian Alexander Steen Olsen celebrated his third victory in the Alpine Ski World Cup under extreme conditions. In the exciting night giant slalom on the Planai in Schladming, the 23-year-old ultimately won superior in front of his compatriot Henrik Kristoffersen (+0.39 seconds). “It was such a crazy race,” said Steen Olsen in the BR. For the “Vikings” in front of 15,000 spectators in the last giant slalom in front of the World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm (4th to 16th February) it was the sixth victory this season.
In the fight with a stubborn fog, persistent rain and snowfall and thus a very soft, highly shortened slope, World Cup dominator Marco Odermatt from Switzerland improved from twelfth to third place (+0.60). The Swiss Loic Meillard, who went to the final as the leading man, missed the podium by 0.01 seconds.

Skir racing driver Alexis Pinturault suffered a break in the right knee in his fall in Kitzbühel and will no longer come back to the World Cup this winter. Investigations in France showed a fracture of the shin -oned plateaus and a meniscus injury. According to the association, the 33-year-old has to suspend around six weeks before he can start rehabilitation measures in March.
