Fifteen witnesses assure that the castle of the Mislata accident was not tied on one side

One by one, until fifteen witnesses questioned by the National Policepresent the afternoon of last January 4 when the mislata bouncy castle tragedy, which claimed the lives of two girls aged four and eight, ensure that the attraction was not tied to the right side, just the one that rose after a gust of wind. This completely dismantles the story of the carny and the technical engineer who checked the installation two days before. At least that afternoon, according to all the witnesses and the police report sent to the Court of Instruction number four of Mislata, that side of the fair was not properly tied.

In any case, the manufacturer of the attraction, whose declaration also appears in said report, maintains that the castle had 32 mooringswith their corresponding steel rings, to guarantee their safety and that if they had all been anchored, which is why they were put in place, the tarpaulins would have been torn but at no time would the attraction, 22 meters long by 7.5 wide , it would not have gone flying nor would it have risen from the ground no matter how windy it was.

The manufacturer of the attraction claims that if the 32 tie-downs had been attached, the tarps would have torn, but it would not have been lifted by the wind.

Several parents who were next to the attraction at the time of the events, they state that they tried to hold on to the castle when it was suddenly lifted into the air, and that there was no tie on the right side, except for a loose rope. In fact, one of them was struck by the fact that he was not anchored to the ground and even before the accident occurred, with the first gusts of wind, he lowered his children from the attraction.

The witnesses detail that while they controlled their children next to the castle, passing through the right side because on the other side it was not possible to pass because there was another attraction – the mats to which the inflatable was tied – they did not have to overcome any obstacle such as no ropes nor did they see any anchor.

Only one of these 16 eyewitnesses questioned about the presence of the anchors, he thinks he remembers seeing the anchors on that side when he was walking the dog.

On this same right side, when the police arrive at the scene, the agents find cut ropes and others without any knots —some of them damaged. According to the person responsible for the attraction, he cut them with a knife to rescue the children, but this contrasts with the account of the witnesses, who deny that the carny came to help the minors. In addition, that is the side that was raised by the wind, so the ties that hindered reaching the minors trapped in the attraction were on the opposite side, where there were three points of attachment to the metal structure of the trampolines. Hence this side of the castle was not raised.
