FIFA is giving football fans another opportunity to buy tickets for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
The 2026 World Cup begins in just over two months. Despite the situation in the USA and Mexico, the rush for tickets is enormous; according to FIFA, requests have been received in the millions. Many applicants were rejected. From April 1st, fans will have another chance to purchase tickets for the major event.
Then the fourth and final sales phase begins, as FIFA announced in a press release on Wednesday evening. General ticket sales start at 5 p.m. and take place via the FIFA ticket page. The phase runs until the end of the World Cup. Tickets will “continue to be released on an ongoing basis, including possibly tickets for games on the respective day,” the world association said.
However, it is unclear how many tickets in total are still for sale. However, FIFA is confident that it will break the attendance record from the 1994 World Cup. At that time, a total of 3.5 million visitors streamed into the stadiums. “More than 500 million orders were received during the sales phase with random drawing alone,” said the world association.
It is also unclear at what prices the remaining tickets will be sold from April 1st. Tickets were originally promised starting at $21. However, the cheapest tickets sold so far cost $60, were only available in small quantities and were only reserved for fans of the qualified teams.
