(toSkanews) – From 14 to 17 August, the village of Grazie of Curtatone, in the province of Mantua, celebrates 600 years of the ancient Fair of Graces, one of the longest -lived Italian popular traditions: a mix between art, spirituality and entertainment in a unique atmosphere between sacred and profane. The fair, which recalls over 100 thousand visitors every year, takes place on the days of August near the sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of the Graces, a spiritual heart of the village and a destination for pilgrimages, immersed in the Park of the Mincio right in the period of the spectacular flowering of lotus flowers. In addition to the religious celebrations and the most institutional moments, the 2025 program offers cultural events such as book presentations and meetings with authors, musical performances, insights on historical and artistic themes.

But the real fulcrum of the event is the 51st national meeting of the Madonnari, considered the most important event in the world dedicated to Madonnara art. From the morning of August 14 to the sunset of 15, 130 artists, of which 28 from abroad, will transform the churchyard of the sanctuary into an extraordinary open -air art gallery, interpreting the theme of the year with the chalks: “By grace received. The Madonnas of the world in Grazie », a symbolic path between faith and creativity that crosses the five continents. The works will be evaluated by a jury of experts, chaired by the historian and essayist Giordano Bruno Guerri.

The artistic path leads visitors to Ianua Coelithe collective work which, for the 600 years of the Fair and the Jubilee 2025, was designed for the Municipality of Curtatone by the art historians Paola Artoni and Paolo Bertelli, in collaboration with the master US Madonnaro Kurt Wenner, pioneer of the perspective street art. Wenner will coordinate a team of 12 Madonnari masters in the creation of a large choral painting, designed to be crossed by visitors and pilgrims, symbolically becoming a Santa Jubilee door. To make the atmosphere of thanks even more lively, inserted in the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy, stalls full of flavors of local food and wine, crafts and curiosities, historical re -enactments with musicians and flag -wavers, spaces for children, evening concerts and, as per tradition, the great final pyromusical show.
