The optician group Fielmann has completed the past year with growth. In 2024, the group turnover had climbed by 15 percent to around EUR 2.3 billion in 2024, the company announced when presenting preliminary figures on Tuesday in Hamburg.

The adjusted profit before interest, taxes and depreciation (EBITDA) increased by around 23 percent to 491 million euros. The corresponding margin was 21.7 percent. That was 1.5 percentage points more than in the previous year. The business in Europe and the savings program particularly contributed to the improved profitability. Before taxes, there was a profit of 237 million euros in a special effect – an increase of around 23 percent.

“Our market share profits in the 2024 financial year are optimistic that we can continue to expand our position in the current year,” Fielmann continued. With regard to the improvement of profitability, the board sees itself on the right track to achieve the goal of an adjusted EBITDA margin of 25 percent in Europe and 24 percent at the Group level. The company plans to give a detailed outlook for 2025 in April.
