The 20-year-old man from Roermond who stormed the field during PSV-Sevilla on Thursday evening and attacked the goalkeeper of the Spanish team, is suspected of assault. He also violated an area ban that the municipality had previously imposed on him.
In addition, it appears that the man was already given community service in 2021 and 2022, after incidents surrounding football matches.
The Public Prosecution Service says that the man was under the influence of alcohol. A test showed that he had a blood alcohol level of over 1.6. That equals about ten glasses of beer.
The Public Prosecution Service also reports that the case is being handled through fast-track proceedings. He will appear in court on Wednesday, March 8. In addition, extra account is taken of the impact of his action and his criminal history.
