With the launch of the new Fiat 500X Hybrid and Tipo Hybrid, the Lingotto completes the electrification of its range that began with the Panda and 500. Compared to the latter, the crossover and sedan are equipped with the most advanced 48 V mild-hybrid system, with 15 kW e-motor mounted in the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It supports the renewed 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo gasoline FireFly engine, capable of delivering 130 Hp and a torque of 240 Nm. With the contribution of the hybrid component, the work of the FireFly is supplemented by the support of a Bsg electric motor which it allows a silent and 100% electric start, and from the e-motor that improves the efficiency of the vehicle, also allowing it to travel with the thermal engine off. This is the first Hybrid in Fiat that uses the electric motor by completely disconnecting the petrol engine which, according to Wltp measurements, can remain inactive for up to 47% of the time of use. If we consider only the urban use, the percentage reaches up to 62%. Consequently, the new Hybrid 48 volt is a petrol engine that consumes less than a Diesel in the urban cycle (Wltp): 4.7 l / 100 km against the 5 l / 100 km of the 1.6 Type diesel engine and 5.1 l / 100 km against the 5.4 l / 100 km of the 1.6 diesel engine of the 500X.
