Feyenoord announce Quinten Timber’s signing – record signing at Rotterdam

Return to training club

Feyenoord Rotterdam have announced the signing of Quinten Timber. The central midfielder, twin brother of Ajax professional Jurrien Timber, has signed a contract with the 15-time Dutch champions until 2026. The club apparently digged deep into their pockets for the 21-year-old’s services. According to “De Telegraaf”, the Rotterdam team will pay FC Utrecht a fixed 8.5 million euros, including bonuses the amount could rise to 10 million euros – the club has never spent so much money on a new signing.

For Timber, for whom Amsterdam and PSV Eindhoven are said to have courted, it is a return to the old place of work. From 2018 to 2014 he was trained at Feyenoord. “It certainly feels familiar to be back here. Driving to De Kuip felt like coming home. Feyenoord did their best to bring me back and I’m happy with that. To be able to be back here eight years after I left, in this stadium where the fans transfer their energy to the team, is fantastic,” he said.
