Fewer NS trains are running between Assen and Groningen today due to equipment limitations. That adds about 15 minutes to extra travel time. The delay will last until at least 6.45 pm.
The limited equipment is due to deferred maintenance due to the winter weather of recent days. As a result, many trains could not receive maintenance, says an NS spokesperson.
Fewer trains also run on other routes for this reason, such as Schiphol and Nijmegen (via Utrecht), the route between Schiphol and The Hague and the route between Amsterdam Central Station and Zaandam.
